Talking American Competitiveness

It’s hard to beat talking with a passionate crowd. There’s nothing more energizing. World Boston and Boston International drew an engaged and enthusiastic group to a roundtable discussion last week on American Competitiveness and national security. On the panel, I was joined by American Security Project CEO Steve Cheney and Harvard Business School Professor Jan Rivkin. The crowd peppered us with questions that were spot on, from pushing us on our priority policy changes to asking “what can we do?” to improve American competitiveness. Our levels of optimism varied but we found a consensus that this is the right time for private and public sector leaders take bold steps to shore up America’s competitive position in the world. Doing so will improve America’s national security.

Thanks to World Boston and Boston International for drawing the excellent crowd, to GrandTen Distilling for the complimentary tasting that fired up the group and to Cooley LLP for providing a venue.
